IDModeling is pleased to announce that, with much anticipation, the
Company’s Industry Expert Webcast series was launched to the industry
and extremely well received. The webcast took place on the 30th of
March and was attended by over 100 participants spanning from America
to Australia, and included both a combination of consulting engineers,
cities, and utility agencies.
The webcast, “How Much
Storage Do You Really Need?”, presented different approaches to the
complex and important issue of providing justifiable and economical
storage volumes for operations, fire, emergencies, and more. The
webcast was presented by Brian J. Powell, P.E., Technical Services
Director of IDModeling, Inc, and covered the following topics:
Typical Industry Storage Formulas
Types of Storage
Operational Issues and Storage
Water Quality Issues and Storage
Benefits and Limitations of a Model to Identify Storage Needs
Effective and Ineffective Storage Use
The webcast ended with lively discussion and
reflection on the wide range of approaches available to aid water
utilities in designing their storage facilities. “The Instructor shared
a wealth of information and the accompanying visuals were excellent in
tying in the concepts presented,” stated George Cardenas, Project
Manager of Phelan Piñon Hills Community Services District. Leighton
Fong, Civil Engineer of Glendale Water & Power remarked, “We viewed
the webcast as a group in our conference room. It generated terrific
discussion on how to best operate our system."
