Calibration gives the modeler a sense of how well the model can predict real world behavior; however, very few guidelines exist to assist the modeler in calibration efforts. As a result, calibration efforts may be overly concerned with factors that may or may not be appropriate to adjust. This article will discuss common calibration approaches as well as tips and tricks to maximize the effectiveness of calibration efforts.
